Reconstruction of a Cob Cottage

One of our latest projects is to look at the reconstruction of an original New Forest cob cottage. The original part of the cottage (the central part) built of cob collapsed some years ago, leaving the two 20th century extensions still standing. Our task is to rebuild the cob part, whilst leaving the extensions in place. A cob specialist is on our team so we can look at creating traditional foundations, tying the cob vertically and horizontally and also cross-bracing at high level.
